What's the difference between gold plated and gold overlay?  Which is best?
Gold plating is the term used to describe the process of plating jewelry made of non-precious base metal (zinc, nickel, copper) with a thin layer of gold, which is deposited by electrochemical methods.  As the layer is usually thin, in will naturally wear in time.

Gold filled (also called "gold overlay" or "rolled gold") consists of several bonded layers of gold usually of 14 karat or higher.  It's a very durable option, especially of you plan to wear the item often.  The gold filled metals we use are guaranteed, so you can be sure that you're going to buy an item you have confidence in.
